How to Import Windows Media Player Playlists to Zune

Okay, so there are some issues with the Zune software that bug me, the primary one being the inability to import my Windows Media Player playlists into Zune. So I did some exploring and found that it's actually really easy to do. Assuming you're saving your WMP playlists as .wpl files (only because I've not tried this with .m3u files), simply make a copy of the .wpl playlist and change the extension to .zpl. Open the Zune software and voila!, you have your playlist. Of course, this also assumes that you're storing your playlists for both WMP and Zune in the same location.

And yes, I'm probably the last person on the planet to discover this; I've been busy. :-)

BTW, one of my other pet peeves with the Zune software is that you can't shuffle your playlists in the software UI (you can shuffle playback, but not the list itself). This can also be solved by shuffling the playlist in WMP, saving it and then doing the copy-and-rename thing. You can also manually edit lists with a text editor.
